Anjuthengu fort:

The fort was the East India Company's first permanent post on the Malabar Coast. In November 1693, John Brabourne was sent by the British East India Company (EIC) to Attingal, where he obtained from Rani Ashure a grant of a site for a fort on the sandy spit of Anchuthengu (then known as Anjengo), together with the monopoly of the pepper trade of Attingal. The EIC commenced construction in January 1696.The fort was completed in 1699, and a flourishing trade in pepper and cotton cloth speedily grew up. The fort served as the first signaling station for ships arriving from Britain. The fort is 256 ft (78.0 m) square, with four bastions, each of which mounted eight 18-pounder guns. The walls between the bastions had seven or eight guns. In addition, there was a battery of some twenty 18&24-pounder guns facing the sea. The fort had a garrison of 400 Europeans and 70-80 topassesOriginally Anjengo was second in importance to the EIC only to Bombay Castle.

Veli:

The Veli Tourist Village which lies where the Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea provides for unique boating and picnicking opportunities. Visitors can hire pedal boats or paddleboats as per their convenience. One can also roam the gardens and have a nice picnic or choose to employ the boats for the entire duration of the trip. The view and feel of the place is extremely unique, considering it is merely 12 kms from the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. Children are known to have a lot of fun climbing the sculptures here and the speedboat ride across the waters. DEMONSTRATION

 DEMONSTRATION BY SENIORS

Peer teaching is one of the best ways to master a particular subjectIt is a method of teaching, where a student instructs another student, wherein the former will be an expert and the latter a novice.

Through the direct interaction between students, peer teaching promotes active learning as well as participation within themselves. Student teachers enhance their own depth of knowledge in the topic by instructing others.

Here our seniors teach us the lessons. It is very useful.

Typically, each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room or suite of rooms. Additional facilities are provided within the building. This can include facilities for meals, gatherings, recreation activities, and some form of health or hospital care.

We visited 'Happy Home Old age Centre' which is situated in Kavalakulam near Neyyatinkara. In there we can able to study more about human values. From this community visit I understand the problems faced by human being in their old ages. It was really a great experience.

SUPW WORK - CRAFT

 NEWSPAPER JAR

Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) is a purposive productive work and services related to the needs of the child and the community, which will be proved meaningful to the learner. Such work must not be performed mechanically but must include planning, analysis and detailed preparation, at every stage so that it is educational in essence. Adoption of improved tools and materials, where available and the adoption of modern techniques will lead to an appreciation of the needs of a progressive society based on technology. Students learn to work as a team and to work with skill and deftness.
I made a newspaper jar, which is eco-friendly. It can be used to keep things. Usage of these type of things will make our environment clean and free from plastic.

ART WORK - GREETING CARD

greeting card is a piece of card stock, usually with an illustration or photo, made of high quality paper featuring an expression of friendship or other sentiment. Although greeting cards are usually given on special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas or other holidays, such as Holi, Diwali,... they are also sent to convey thanks or express other feelings.

Here, I made a birthday card using colour charts and A4 size papers. Also I used beads to decorate the card.

ART WORK - GEOMETRIC SHAPES

DODECAHEDRON

In geometry, a dodecahedron is any polyhedron with twelve flat faces. The most familiar dodecahedron is the regular dodecahedron with regular pentagons as faces, which is a Platonic solid. There are also three regular star dodecahedra, which are constructed as stellations of the convex form. All of these have icosahedral symmetry.

PYRAMID

In geometry, a pyramid is a polyhedron formed by connecting a polygonal base and a point, called the apex. Each base edge and apex form a triangle, called a lateral face. It is a conic solid with polygonal base. A pyramid with an n-sided base has n + 1 vertices, n + 1 faces, and 2n edges. All pyramids are self-dual.
